Luca spent most of the day afterwards in his room. He couldn’t say anything even if he wanted to. What could he say? He had nothing that could to live up to what he wanted to say or felt. It also just didn’t matter how he felt. It always ends the same, so why bother?
“Hey, Luca? You good?”
Landon tried to get Luca to talk the next day, but Luca brushed it off. Saying he’s fine and talking with empty but respectful platitudes before Luca went back to work on his art. Landon watched this and decided to give it one more day.
“Hey, prick whistler. Still moping?” Emily asked the next day.
“...Why…”
“Exactly? Why mope around like this, you’re not-”
“Emily, chill.” Landon insisted.
“No, it’s fine. I am moping.” Luca responded. He was pouring himself water in his shorts and shirt, and Landon shook his head.
“Why? Why are you moping?” Landon asked.
“Why else do you think? You know the answer, he’s just being a pissy baby.”
Luca felt his frustrations bubble hearing this. Landon was going to say something, but Emily put her hand up.
